The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has intensified efforts to recover outstanding taxes from Bahria Town, announcing the auction of a major property in Tehsil Murree.
The total tax recovery linked to the developer has now reached Rs. 26 billion.
The latest auction will cover 527 kanals and 10 marlas of land and is scheduled for February 16 as part of the FBR’s ongoing enforcement proceedings.
Previous Auctions Yield Billions
Earlier, the FBR successfully auctioned a Bahria Town plot on Park Road, Islamabad, depositing Rs. 2.05 billion into the national exchequer.
Last week, the tax authority also issued a public notice regarding the auction of a property linked to Bahria Town Tower in Karachi, marking an expansion of recovery actions across multiple cities.
Restrictions on Property Transactions
FBR officials emphasized that the sale, purchase, or transfer of seized Bahria Town properties in Karachi is prohibited without prior approval from the tax authority. Any transaction conducted without FBR consent will be considered invalid.
Claims and Objections
According to officials, objections or claims regarding seized properties can be submitted to the Large Taxpayer Office in Islamabad for review under existing tax laws.
