Maryam Nawaz Loan Scheme: Interest-Free Business Loans in Punjab

The Punjab government has approved a Rs. 47 billion Ramadan Nigehban Package to provide financial relief to deserving families during the holy month of Ramadan.

The decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where preparations for Ramadan and other public relief initiatives were reviewed.

Rs. 10,000 Cash Assistance for Millions of Households

Under the package, the provincial government will provide Rs. 10,000 in cash assistance to 4.2 million families across Punjab. To facilitate transparent and efficient distribution, authorities will issue more than two million Nigehban Cards, which will allow beneficiaries to receive cash support and purchase essential food items.

Cash Withdrawal Through ATMs and Branchless Banking

Officials said that Nigehban Card holders will be able to withdraw cash through Bank of Punjab ATMs as well as branchless banking agents connected to the One-Link network. To ensure smooth activation, the government will establish 136 card activation centers across the province before the start of Ramadan.

Digital Monitoring Through Ramadan Nigehban Dashboard

To improve transparency and real-time monitoring, the government will launch a Ramadan Nigehban Dashboard, enabling authorities to track distribution, verify beneficiaries, and address complaints quickly.

Ration card holders will also benefit from the new package, as their Ramadan assistance has been increased to Rs. 10,000, compared to the earlier Rs. 3,000 monthly support, offering greater relief amid rising living costs.
