Former ISI Chief Lt. Gen. (r) Faiz Hameed Reportedly Jailed for 14 Years

Former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed (retired) has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced.

According to the military’s media wing, the court-martial proceedings against Hameed began on August 12, 2024, under the Pakistan Army Act and lasted approximately 15 months.

What were the charges against Faiz Hameed?

Hameed faced four charges, including involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act, compromising state security, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing wrongful loss to individuals.

Following detailed legal proceedings, the court found him guilty on all counts. The sentence was formally announced on December 11, 2025.

The ISPR statement emphasized that the court-martial adhered to all legal procedures, and Faiz Hameed was provided with full legal rights, including representation by his chosen defense team. He also retains the right to appeal in the relevant forum.

The military added that Hameed’s alleged role in fostering political unrest in coordination with political actors, as well as other related matters, is being addressed separately.
