UAE Becomes World’s Strongest Passport Title for 7th Consecutive Year

The UAE has once again maintained its position as the world’s strongest passport for the seventh year in a row, according to the Passport Index 2025 released by Arton Capital on Wednesday.

Despite a global decline in travel freedom, the UAE remains firmly on top, as many major passports, including those of the UK, US, and Canada, lost mobility this year.

Arton Capital CEO Armand Arton said global mobility is tightening, but the UAE continues to expand its reach through strong diplomacy and trusted bilateral relationships.

Visa-free access to 129 destinations

The Emirati passport now offers visa-free access to 129 destinations, visa-on-arrival in 45 countries, and ETA access to eight, giving it a Mobility Score of 179, the highest in the world.

Arton said the UAE’s long-term diplomatic efforts, digital modernisation, and global economic influence have strengthened its position.

Growing international partnerships, including expanded ETA access in countries like Canada, have also boosted its mobility.

The ranking highlights that a powerful passport now carries even greater value as borders tighten worldwide.

For UAE citizens, strong mobility eases travel for business, education, and tourism, while the wider economy benefits from increased investment and global connectivity.

The report also shows major shifts in global rankings. Singapore jumped to second place, while Malaysia entered the top tier for the first time.

Meanwhile, European passports experienced noticeable declines, with most losing multiple visa-free destinations in 2025.

The UK, US, and Canada also slipped significantly in the rankings, continuing a downward trend driven by stricter global entry rules.

As a global mobility hub, the UAE continues to stand out as the world’s most accessible and influential passport.
