PM seeks roadmap for US-based Pakistani doctors’ investment

A delegation of Pakistani doctors living in the United States met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday and expressed deep interest in investing in Pakistan’s health sector.

The visiting doctors also paid tribute to the premier for the recent improvements made in the country’s healthcare system.

During the meeting, the delegation acknowledged what they described as visible improvements in healthcare delivery and medical infrastructure across Pakistan.

They also commended the prime minister for prioritizing public health and expanding services at the federal and provincial levels.

The doctors noted that Pakistani professionals abroad remain eager to contribute to the country’s development, particularly in the health and medical technology sectors.

PM Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the delegation’s willingness to invest and ordered them to present a “workable and practical roadmap” for strengthening the health sector.

He emphasised that investment from overseas Pakistani doctors can help modernise hospitals, expand specialised care, and support long-term reforms.

The prime minister also instructed officials of the Economic Affairs Division to immediately address any hurdles or administrative challenges related to investment proposals.

He assured the delegation that the government is committed to facilitating overseas professionals and enabling them to play a greater role in Pakistan’s economic and social development.
