Al-Qaeda resurges in Afghanistan under Taliban support, say Israeli media reports.
The Jerusalem Post has claimed that 24 years after 9/11, al-Qaeda has re-emerged in Afghanistan under the patronage of the Taliban.
According to the report, al-Qaeda, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) are consolidating their terrorist networks in coordination with the Afghan Taliban.
This growing alliance poses a direct threat to national security in the United States, Pakistan, and other regional countries. Afghanistan is once again becoming a safe haven for global terrorist organisations.

Risk to regional stability
The Jerusalem Post reported that the TTP commanders and battle-hardened militants based in Afghanistan represent a serious risk to regional stability. The terrorist network presents a daily threat to Pakistan’s security and internal stability.
The al-Qaeda leader, a former Egyptian commando and close associate of Osama bin Laden, is regarded as the group’s most experienced military strategist.
IS-K is reportedly being used to obscure the operational links between the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the TTP networks operating within Afghanistan are actively planning attacks inside Pakistan.
