Powerful country is angry due to our independent foregin policy, says PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan stated on Friday that a powerful country was upset with Pakistan as a result of his visit to Russia.

The PM stated at the Islamabad Security Dialogue that the “strong country” is supporting its ally, India. “Today I read the British Foreign Secretary’s remark in which he stated that they cannot say anything to India because it is an independent state — I don’t blame them for this support; this is our error,” he continued.

Taking a shot at National Assembly Leader Shahbaz Sharif, he added, “Those who are preparing to ascend to the Prime Minister’s Office are giving interviews that my words will irritate America, and Pakistan cannot exist without its backing.”

He went on to accuse the Opposition of sacrificing Pakistan’s economy and humiliating the country in the eyes of the world for their own gain.

In response to the ongoing controversy over the alleged US “threat letter,” the premier stated that “an honorable person is always recognized, asking whether a country can threaten another country.”

On Thursday, speaking about the “threatening note” that the PM said he got from a foreign country against his government, he blamed the plot on the US.

In an apparent slip of the tongue, he mentioned “the United States…” but soon moved on to say that “a foreign country” had issued a “threatening document” to the Pakistani government.

According to Prime Minister Imran Khan, previous politicians’ policies have resulted in a situation in which no foreign country respects Pakistan. “They give us orders. They claim that if the no-confidence motion fails, Pakistan will suffer the consequences.”

Under the subject “Comprehensive Security: Reimagining International Cooperation,” the two-day debate will bring together Pakistani and international policy experts to address current problems in international security.

The Islamabad Security Dialogue will feature 17 international speakers from the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Russia, the European Union, Japan, and the Philippines, among other countries.
