PM Khan calls National Security Committee meating today

Prime Minister Imran Khan has called a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) for this afternoon (Thursday).

Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, confirmed the news in a tweet on Thursday. The meeting will take place in the afternoon at the Prime Minister’s House, he said in a tweet.

The development came a day after the premier decided to present a secret letter’ at the PTI’s March 27 rally in the hope that dissidents within his party, as well as disgruntled PTI allies, would change their minds after learning of its contents and reject the opposition’s motion of no-confidence against him.

On Wednesday, the premier shared the letter with cabinet members in a hastily arranged meeting that its two key allies — MQM-P and BAP — did not attend despite being invited. According to reports, the letter was shown to cabinet members on a TV screen.
