Punjab launches ‘good, bad touch’ campaign for children.

The Punjab Home Department has launched a province-wide awareness campaign on the orders of the chief minister in a significant move to protect minors from sexual abuse.

The initiative aims to educate children about “good touch” and “bad touch” through an engaging animated series, highlighting the importance of personal safety and early reporting.

The Punjab Home Department unveiled the first episode of a specially designed animation series featuring two characters — ‘Haya’ and ‘Bahadur’.

These animated figures serve as child-friendly guides who teach young viewers how to identify safe and unsafe physical interactions in a polite and age-appropriate manner.

The campaign carries the powerful message ‘We won’t fear those who attempt bad touch; we’ll confront them’, urging children to speak up about any inappropriate behaviour they may encounter.

“Educating children about personal safety is the need of the hour,” said a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department. “This campaign not only raises awareness among children but also encourages parents and teachers to play an active role in guiding them on how to report abuse — whether it happens at home, school, or elsewhere.”

The campaign will be rolled out across schools, community centers, and digital platforms to reach a wider audience.
