Contacts between government allies and the opposition have accelerated ahead of a no-confidence motion with a delegation of the latter holding a detailed meeting with the leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in Parliament lodges late Monday night.
During the meeting, a lengthy discussion of the imminent no-confidence move against the prime minister was held.
Other topics discussed in depth included the government’s approach toward allies, its indifference to keeping pledges made to the MQM-P, and the delay in convening the National Assembly session.
The opposition delegation included Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Ahsan Iqbal, Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah, and Khawaja Saad Rafique.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPPKhursheed )’s Shah and Sohail Anwar Siyal were also present at the meeting.
Aamir Khan, Wasim Akhtar, and Aminul Haque were among the MQM delegation.
