If the National Assembly speaker delays the no-trust vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari threatened on Saturday to block the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) conference, which is set to take place on March 22-23 in Islamabad.
“We want Monday’s session to start with no-confidence motion but if it is not summoned by Monday then we will stage a sit-in the house… we will then see how you will be able to organise the OIC conference,” Bilawal said at a joint press conference, held following a meeting of the opposition leaders at Shehbaz’s residence in Islamabad.

He advised NA Speaker Asad Qaiser not to become a “PTI worker,” instead focusing on the country and the OIC conference. “If the speaker does not modify his undemocratic behaviour, I will persuade the entire opposition,” he added. “We want the OIC moot to go well, but it appears that the administration does not want it to happen.”
The administration, according to Bilawal, does not want the opposition to remain peaceful, as seen by the attacks on Parliament Lodges and Sindh House in the federal capital.
“Imran Khan, after seeing his defeat, has started taking these undemocratic measures… I want to congratulate the masses as Imran Khan has lost the majority and his regime is over,” he added.
Shehbaz, speaking at the event, said the attack on Sindh House was an attack on Pakistan. “All of this is taking place under the guidance of Imran Niazi… a confident winner never fights… Imran Khan is willing to go to any length to save his government,” he added.
The opposition will only utilise constitutional measures to win their no-trust motion, according to the PML-N leader, who also claimed that the PTI’s allies have turned their backs on the government.
“They (government allies) are saying that there is no horse-trading taking place and because of PTI government’s incompetence, dissident lawmakers are finding it difficult to face people in their constituencies,” he added.
The head of the opposition in the National Assembly further stated that if the speaker continues to attend PTI meetings and support the ruling party, he will not be remembered positively in history books and will be unable to refer to people in his own constituency.
PM Imran uses ‘vulgar language’ during his public appearances, according to JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is also the president of the Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM).
“When the members were being transported via a plane [to support the government] then the act was called the voice of conscience but now when the same members are voting against the government, they are being called mules,” he added.
Even a nasty person, according to Fazl, cannot use the foul language prevalent at political rallies these days. “Our destination is near… we will put a stop to this illegitimate and inept regime,” he added.
