PM never concerned about the poor as he came to power to destroy the country: Shahbaz

ISLAMABAD: Shahbaz Sharif, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, reacted to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speech on Sunday, saying that the premier was “never concerned about the prices of potatoes and tomatoes” because he had come to ruin the country.

PM Imran Khan’s address at Hafizabad, according to the PML-N leader, was a “testament to his defeat,” according to an official statement.

PM Imran Khan, Shahbaz indicated, did not come to power to set the pricing of basic commodities like potatoes and tomatoes because he is unconcerned about the country’s poor.

PM Imran Khan had earlier today stated that he did not enter politics to learn the pricing of “aloo and tamatar,” but rather for the sake of the country’s young.

“You had indeed joined politics to see the fall of Kashmir and to stop the projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),” Shahbaz said. “You came to increase Pakistan’s ranking in the global corruption index, you came for destruction, you came to anger Pakistan’s friends, and you came to hand over Pakistan’s economic sovereignty to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).”

PM Imran Khan had taken government, according to the PML-N president, in order to build “illegal construction schemes” and turn his “black money into white money.”

Shahbaz went on to say that one of the reasons PM Imran came to power was to raise the price of petrol from Rs96 to Rs160.

“You have elevated Pakistan to the world’s third most costly country. The people of Pakistan are suffering from inflation, unemployment, and economic disasters as a result of your reign, all of which have turned out to be doomsday scenarios for the masses “he stated

“Imran Sahib, your mission is done; now go home and let the nation breathe a sigh of relief,” Shahbaz added.
