ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Prime Minister Imran Khan would make a “major announcement” in his address to the nation today (Monday).
His media message was broadcast shortly after Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, verified the PM’s speech on his official Twitter account this morning.
According to Fawad, the premier will reassure the public about Pakistan’s economy and the worldwide problems the country faces in the wake of the Ukraine crisis.
The PM will talk at 6 p.m., according to FM Qureshi.
PM Imran Khan visited Moscow just a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military incursion in Ukraine, effectively declaring war on the Western-backed republic.
Pervez Khattak says the government will shortly announce a cut in POL and energy prices.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak stated on Sunday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon unveil a relief package for the people as well as a drop in petroleum and energy prices.
“The prime minister will address the nation shortly and announce a Rs10 decrease in fuel prices and an Rs5 reduction in power rates per unit, among other measures,” he stated during a public meeting in Nowshera’s Mumraiz neighborhood.
