Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, wrapping up his five-day visit to China, announced a significant educational initiative on Saturday.

Pakistan will send 1,000 students to China for advanced training in the agricultural sector, reflecting the country’s commitment to modernizing its farming practices.

The announcement was made during his visit to the Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Base in Xi’an, as reported by Radio Pakistan.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to China’s North West Agriculture and Forestry University to establish a campus in Pakistan.

He directed Pakistan’s ambassador to China and other relevant authorities to expedite discussions and finalize the plans with their Chinese counterparts.

Prime Minister Sharif toured the Yangling facility extensively, including the Pakistan Pavilion, which showcased a variety of Pakistani products.

He also visited a cutting-edge plant production factory, where he observed a demonstration of vertical farming methods.

In discussions with Chinese officials, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to enhance its agricultural sector, aiming to increase per acre crop yields and boost agricultural exports.

“Modernizing agriculture and increasing agricultural exports are among our top priorities,” he stated.

The Prime Minister received a detailed briefing on the Yangling Base, which collaborates with 26 countries in agricultural research.

Pakistan has the distinction of being the first country to participate in this initiative.

He was also informed about the active participation of Pakistani universities and scientists in ongoing research at the base.

Following his productive visit to the agricultural base, Prime Minister Sharif returned to Pakistan with his high-level delegation.

During his stay in China, he engaged in numerous meetings with Chinese leadership, authorities, and representatives from business and investment communities.

As Pakistan to send students to China for agriculture training, the visit was undertaken at the invitation of Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
