Police arrest BLA’s ‘most wanted’ terrorist from Karachi’s Lyari.
Law enforcement authorities in Karachi have apprehended a notorious terrorist associated with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
The arrest of Mairaj alias Mama, a key operative within the militant organization, marks a crucial development in the ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in the region.
Key Role in BLA Operations:
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Asad Raza revealed that Mairaj played a pivotal role in facilitating BLA activities by providing vital information to BLA commander Jalal.
Notable Incidents:
One of the most notable incidents attributed to Mairaj occurred in 2017 when he conducted surveillance on an army convoy traveling from Turbat to Gwadar in Balochistan.
This reconnaissance mission enabled the BLA to launch a deadly attack, resulting in the tragic martyrdom of Pakistan Army personnel.

Moreover, Mairaj was implicated in spying on a military encampment located within a school premises in Balochistan’s Naseerabad.
Subsequently, this intelligence gathering led to a vicious assault that claimed the lives of several brave soldiers.
Involvement in Targeted Killings:
In addition to his role in facilitating large-scale attacks, Mairaj was reportedly involved in targeted killings, particularly targeting individuals with connections to intelligence agencies.
The DIG disclosed that Mairaj orchestrated the targeted killing of four individuals, who happened to be cousins of an officer working within an intelligence agency, by meticulously surveilling them.
Attack on Gwadar Port:
DIG Raza emphasized his role in planning an attack on the strategically significant Gwadar Port during the holy month of Ramadan.
The brazen assault resulted in the loss of numerous lives, including those of security personnel tasked with safeguarding the port.
Nushki Attack:
Furthermore, Mairaj was implicated in a heinous attack on army soldiers in Nushki, resulting in significant casualties among the military ranks.
His involvement in this attack further underscores the grave threat posed by individuals associated with militant organizations like the BLA.
