Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister currently incarcerated, has leveled serious allegations against Army chief General Asim Munir.
Khan claims that General Munir directly orchestrated the imprisonment of his wife, Bushra Bibi, who is currently under house arrest at their residence in Bani Gala near Islamabad.
Allegations Made During Jail Conversation:
Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan asserted that the judge who sentenced his wife was coerced into making that decision under pressure from General Asim Munir.
He warned of severe consequences should any harm befall his wife, vowing to expose what he believes to be unconstitutional and unlawful actions by the army chief.
“General Asim Munir is directly involved in the sentence awarded to my wife,” Mr Khan said, adding that the judge who convicted her said that he was forced to make the decision.
“If anything happens to my wife, I will not leave Asim Munir, I will not leave Asim Munir as long as I am alive. I will expose his unconstitutional and illegal steps,” he threatened.
Criticism of Lawlessness and Political Bias:
Imran Khan also criticized the prevailing lawlessness in Pakistan, describing it as a state ruled by a “king of the jungle,” where decisions are arbitrary and biased.
He cited the disparate treatment between the forgiveness of cases against Nawaz Sharif and the purportedly unjust punishment meted out to himself and his party.
Mr Khan said there was a law of the jungle in the country and all was being done by the “king of the jungle”. “If the king of the jungle wants, all the cases of Nawaz Sharif are forgiven, and when he wants, we are punished in three cases in five days,” he alleged.
Economic Stability and Rule of Law:
Addressing economic concerns, Khan emphasized the necessity of attracting investment for economic stability, rather than relying solely on loans from institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He stressed the importance of establishing a robust rule of law to foster a conducive environment for investment in Pakistan.
Recent Clashes and Political Interference:
Khan also commented on recent clashes between police and the military in Bahawalnagar, Punjab, alleging mistreatment of police officers and forced apologies by authorities in power.

Furthermore, he claimed that PTI was facing obstacles in participating in by-elections.
“At this time, standing in front of oppression is Jihad. Our workers have to protect each vote, guard the vote,” the former premier said.
Awaiting Army’s Response:
Despite the gravity of these accusations, there has been no official response from the army regarding Imran Khan’s allegations against General Asim Munir.
