ISLAMABAD: Instead of joining any bloc, Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that Pakistan wishes to create trade links with all other countries in order to bring people out of poverty.
Prior to his visit to Moscow, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave an exclusive interview to Russian television, emphasizing that the last thing Pakistan wants is “a world divided into blocs.”
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will depart on a two-day official visit to Moscow. This is the first visit to Pakistan by a Pakistani prime minister in the last 23 years.
During the interview, the premier stated that stronger cooperation among the United States, China, and Russia will benefit everyone far more than the conflict.
PM Imran Khan emphasized the importance of a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis, saying that military battles do not solve problems.
“Pakistan wishes to deepen bilateral relations with Russia,” he said, adding that he is looking forward to his visit to Moscow.
‘Relevating sanctions on Iran will allow Pakistan to obtain cheaper gas.’
“Pakistan is a gas-deficient country,” he said, adding that the country’s North-South Gas pipeline has been delayed due to US sanctions on the Russian company “we were negotiating for the pipeline’s construction.”
He went on to say that relaxing sanctions on Iran will allow Pakistan to acquire the cheapest gas from its neighbor.
According to Prime Minister Khan, India has accepted a racist mentality.
In response to a query about relations with India, the premier stated that his government reached out to India shortly after taking office in order to address the outstanding Kashmir problem.
He regretted, though, that India had adopted a “racist philosophy inspired by Nazis.”
In response to a question, Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that the world’s two greatest challenges are climate change and the unlawful flow of money from poor countries to the rich world. He suggested that Western countries enact regulations similar to those enacted in the fight against terrorism financing in order to stem the flow of illicit funds.
