ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Command and Operation (NCOC) statistics showed only 1,360 new COVID-19 cases in the recent 24 hours, the lowest number since January 8.
The country reported 1,345 new COVID-19 infections on January 8.
According to the most recent NCOC figures, new illnesses were discovered after 41,597 coronavirus diagnostic tests were performed across the country in the previous 24 hours.
The country’s COVID-19 positive rate fell to 3.26 percent as a result of the reduction. However, the total number of cases has increased to 1,501,680.
Meanwhile, the virus claimed the lives of 31 more people, bringing the total number of people killed in the country to 30,040 in a single day.
Furthermore, 1,315 patients recovered overnight, bringing Pakistan’s total number of active cases to 67,672. However, there are still 1,302 patients in critical care units.
The NCOC is set to examine the coronavirus restrictions it had extended in six cities with a COVID-19 positivity rate of more than 10% today (Monday), as the country’s COVID-19 positivity rate falls.
After examining the COVID-19 situation across the country on February 15, the forum agreed to keep the limits in place, which were first imposed in January in cities with high illness frequency.
