LHC Registrar orders probe against civil judge Asim Hafeez in Rizwana torture case. In a significant development, the Lahore High Court (LHC) registrar has directed the Rawalpindi sessions judge to conduct a thorough inquiry into the allegations leveled against civil judge Asim Hafeez in the troubling Rizwana torture case.

Complying with the directive, the Rawalpindi sessions judge has swiftly summoned the pertinent records associated with the accusations against Asim Hafeez.

However, an investigative team assigned to the Rizwana torture case finds itself hampered, unable to probe into the actions of civil judge Asif Hafeez even after five months since a criminal case was initiated against his spouse.

The primary obstacle appears to be the team’s lack of authorization to investigate civil judge Asim Hafeez, a situation that persists despite three formal requests to the LHC registrar.

Meanwhile, the young victim at the center of this controversy, Rizwana, the minor housemaid allegedly subjected to abuse by the wife of Judge Asim Hafeez, has taken a positive step forward.

Currently residing in a shelter managed by the Punjab Child Protection Bureau, Rizwana has embarked on a new phase of her life by securing admission to a school.

The distressing incident unfolded several months ago when Rizwana was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Sargodha in critical condition. Reports indicated she bore wounds on her face, head, and body, allegedly inflicted by a “blunt weapon.”

Further complicating matters, burn marks were discovered on her body, leading to her transfer to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Lahore General Hospital, where medical professionals expressed grave concerns about her survival.

As LHC Registrar orders probe against civil judge Asim Hafeez in Rizwana torture case, Rizwana’s recent enrollment in school marks a hopeful chapter in her path to recovery.
