FBR extends date for filing income tax returns. The due date for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2023 has been extended to October 31, 2023, according to a statement made by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Saturday.

The decision was announced via the social media site X (formerly Twitter), in response to appeals from trade organizations and other tax bar associations.

It’s crucial to remember that no more extensions will be given for the submission of these returns.

“In view of the demand of trade bodies and various tax bar associations, it has been decided that the date of filing of income tax return for Tax Year 2023 is extended to *31st October, 2023*. However, no further extension for filing of said return shall be granted,” said FBR.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the FBR said, “In light of the requests from trade bodies and various tax bar associations, we have decided to extend the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2023 to October 31, 2023.”

“Nevertheless, it’s important to note that no additional extensions will be granted,” it added.

Over 1.7 million people, according to FBR authorities, have already submitted their tax forms. The authorities also expected that there would be more people than two million.

A federal law enforcement organization in Pakistan called the Federal Board of Revenue, formerly known as the Central Board of Revenue, looks into tax offences, shady wealth buildup, and money-laundering to regulate revenue collection.
