Nation celebrates Kashmir Day to express solidarity with Kashmiri people

ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris from all over the world, including Pakistan, will commemorate Kashmir Day on Saturday to show solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) (today).

The plans for the day’s celebration have been finalised. Banners, posters, and flags exposing Indian atrocities in IIOJK, sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people, and Pakistani sympathy have been displayed on the city’s main streets and squares.

On the occasion, conferences, seminars, and rallies have been held in Islamabad. In addition, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has announced that a Senate session will be held in Muzaffarabad for the first time ever to show sympathy with the people of IIOJK.

The issue of Kashmir was discussed on Friday, with the House’s regular agenda being suspended. The 5th of February is a day of renewed dedication to the people of Kashmir.

Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto publicly endorsed the commemoration of Kashmir Solidarity Day with the Kashmiri people on the same day in 1990.

Pakistanis have been expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people for the past 32 years. The purpose of commemorating the day is to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to provide moral, political, and diplomatic assistance to Kashmir’s brothers and sisters till IIOJK’s independence.

AJK President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry urged Kashmiris and Pakistanis residing throughout the world to exhibit solidarity with the people of IIOJK on February 5 in a statement on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

He saw it as a responsibility to stand in solidarity with the people of IIOJK and reveal India’s ugly face to the rest of the world.

The Pakistani nation sends a message to the people of IIOJK by marking Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5th, according to senior leader Sheikh Abdul Matin and members of Chairman Hurriyat Conference Musarat Alam Butt in Pakistan.

Despite the atrocities, India has failed to suffocate the Kashmiris’ sense of independence and affection for Pakistan.
