PTI chairman booked for the murder of lawyer Abdur Razzaq. Unidentified gunmen assassinated Supreme Court advocate Abdur Razzaq Shar on Airport Road in Quetta yesterday. A lawsuit has been filed against Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan.

A case was filed under the murder and terrorist laws based on the victim’s son’s complaint.

The legal profession continued their boycott of all court sessions in the province on Wednesday.

According to police, Advocate Abdur Razzaq was shot and killed near Alamo Chowk on Tuesday. The suspects shot him with a Kalashnikov automatic rifle.

After the body was brought there by police, the post-mortem was performed at the Civil Hospital.

According to preliminary forensic evidence, the victim had 16 bullet wounds on his torso. Following the incident, the legal community immediately boycotted all court hearings in the city.

As the PTI chairman booked for the murder of lawyer Abdur Razzaq, the deceased was one of those who filed a treasonous plea against the PTI chairman. The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has received a plea from attorneys Amanullah Kanrani and Abdur Razzaq seeking to prosecute the former prime minister for violating Article 6 of the Pakistan Constitution.

The petition hearing was scheduled for today (Wednesday).

”Abdur Razzaq’s blood will not be wasted,” declared Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, at a press briefing.

Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi is a Pakistani politician and former cricketer who was the country’s 22nd Prime Minister from August 2018 until April 2022. He is the founder and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party.

Khan was born in Lahore to a Niazi Pashtun family and attended Keble College, Oxford. He made his international debut in a 1971 Test series against England. Khan captained the squad intermittently between 1982 and 1992 and won the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan’s lone triumph in the championship.

Considered one of cricket’s greatest all-rounders, Khan was later inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. Founding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 1996, Khan won a seat in the National Assembly in the 2002 general election, serving as an opposition member from Mianwali until 2007.

PTI boycotted the 2008 general election and became the second-largest party by popular vote in the 2013 general election. In the 2018 general election, running on a populist platform, PTI became the largest party in the National Assembly and formed a coalition government with independents with Khan as prime minister.
