Aslam Bhai, senior member of MQM-P North Karachi UC-5 joint organizer who got injured in today’s protest and was admitted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi, died today.
Aslam got injured in police shelling and the baton charge by the police. He was admitted to hospital on Wednesday and succumbed to injuries during his treatment in the hospital, MQM spokesman said.
MQM-P workers were protesting against the recently passed amendments made in the Sindh Local Government Act 2013. In order to disperse the protestors, police restored to baton charge and gas shelling, in baton charge member of Sindh Assembly, Sadaqat Hussain got injured and a woman from MQM-P fell unconscious due to gas shelling.
Khalid Maqbool Siddique has announced that party will observe black day(Thursday) today over the stark brutality of police on the protestors. He has demanded justice from PM for the violence meted out to his party workers. He has also demanded to remove IG from his position or “we will surround the CM House.”
PM has directed the authorities to take action against officials responsible for the violence meted out to MQM-P protestors outside the CM House in Karachi. Further, he sought report of the incident from interior ministry, Sindh chief secretory and Sindh inspector general.
