COAS Asim Munir emphasis on Balochistan’s socio-economic development

COAS Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, visited the port city of Gwadar, where he was given a security briefing with a special emphasis on CPEC.

According to an ISPR statement issued on Thursday, General Asim Munir was briefed on the current security situation, the Formation’s operational readiness, CPEC security, and efforts to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.

COAS Asim Munir praised the efforts of all ranks and urged them to continue working with professionalism for the benefit of the people of Balochistan. He met with local dignitaries, elected officials, and people from all walks of life.

During his interactions with locals, the Army Chief emphasized that a small number of misguided elements will not be able to shake the resolve of the people of Balochistan and the Armed Forces, who are dedicated to ensuring peace and prosperity.

General Asim Munir placed a special emphasis on the area’s socioeconomic development. He announced welfare projects in education, solar system installation, fisheries, water, health, sports, and livelihood.

During his visit to Gwadar, General Asim was accompanied by Balochistan Chief Minister and Quetta Corps Commander Lt-Gen Asif Ghafoor.

Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah HI is a Pakistani army general and the current Chief of Army Staff, prior to becoming army chief he was posted in GHQ as the Quartermaster general. He commanded the XXX Corps in Gujranwala from 17 June 2019 to 6 October 2021
