Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan stated on Friday that the ‘Jail Bharo’ campaign would begin on Wednesday, stating clearly that the PTI workers and leaders feared none but Allah.
In his televised address from his Bani Gala residence, Imran said that the movement would begin from Lahore. “With each passing day more and more party leaders and workers will swell jails of the country’s big cities,” he said.
He said that the constitution was explicit that elections would be held within 90 days of the dissolution of an assembly.
He said that a caretaker government was always neutral. “But the one formed in Punjab after the dissolution of the provincial assembly is by no means ‘impartial’,” he said.
Imran, on the occasion, also enumerated the inhuman treatment the PTI leaders such as Shahbaz Gill and Azam Swati suffered at the hands of the country’s agencies.
He said now when the entire record of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the attempt on his life had been deleted, he did not see justice would be done in his case. “The very fact that the record has been deleted proves that I was right when I had nominated three persons in my case,” he added.
