ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his shock and sadness over the deaths of visitors in Murree as a result of the harsh weather.
He ordered an investigation into the Murree disaster and promised that strict measures would be implemented to prevent repeat tragedies.
The hill station has been deemed a calamity-hit region, with army personnel sent in to rescue visitors who are still stranded there, according to Divisional Emergency Officer Abdul Rehman.

During 100,000 vehicles entered Murree over the past three days, according to a report provided to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on the Murree tragedy. 12,000 of them were able to leave the hill station, while the others were stranded.
According to the report, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) failed to notify the district administration of the expected unusual snowfall in the hilly area.
