LAHORE: After winter vacations, all government and private schools in Punjab returned today (Friday).
Winter breaks forced Punjab’s educational institutions to close from December 23 to January 6.
Meanwhile, due to the rain and increased cold, student attendance at schools is low.
Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas welcomed children and teachers back to school on Thursday and encouraged them to follow the government’s COVID SOPs.
It’s worth noting that Sindh’s schools and colleges reopened on Monday after the winter vacations ended on January 1. The province’s winter vacations began on December 20.
All provinces were urged by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to move their holidays forward to January so that pupils may be immunised in schools. However, educational institutions in Sindh began their vacations on December 20, while those in Punjab began their vacations on December 23.
