The ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan received election assistance from the former Chief of Army Staff General (r), according to Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi.
Alvi, a significant PTI supporter led by Imran Khan, made these statements on Saturday during a meeting with media figures, business executives, and diplomats from other countries.
The 73-year-old stated that he is also investigating what caused the relationship between Khan and Bajwa to deteriorate and that he believes something happened in October of last year or in the first half of 2022.
He however trashed the claims that Imran Khan moved to remove Gen Bajwa from the coveted post. “I don’t think so. That was a rumour,” he said responding to a question. He continued by saying that politicians’ maturity needed to match the current situation.
President made these remarks as former premier Imran Khan accused Gen (r) Bajwa of man behind the conspiracy that led to his ouster from the government. The outspoken chief accused former COAS of playing a ‘double game’ with him.
It was previously reported that Imran Khan held a secret meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the presidency, facilitated by President Dr Arif Alvi.
