Government to offer 20,000 scholarships to unemployed graduates
The government will offer 20,000 scholarships to unemployed graduates, according to an announcement made on Wednesday by Ahsan Iqbal, minister of planning, development, and special initiatives.
While speaking at an international gathering in the federal capital, the minister made the announcement. He claimed that the recently introduced Youth Development Initiatives (YDI) by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would give the pupils skills.
He added that the government is committed to providing education for every child in the nation and that, as part of YDI, scholarships will also be given to students from remote parts of the nation.
He also referred to education as being essential for the advancement and development of the country.
Iqbal also expressed his gratitude to the US for helping to develop the nation’s higher education system. The minister requested that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) produce skilled workers in accordance with market demands.
HEC has invited applications from Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistani students to study and conduct research in various fields at the best universities in China.
The deadline to submit an online application on the HEC portal www.scholarship.hec.gov.pk under learning opportunities abroad is Thursday, 15th December 2022.
