Pakistan seeks to quintuple trade with Turkey
In accordance with an agreement reached with the Turkiye government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the Turkiye business community on Saturday to do everything in its power to increase the modest trade of $1 billion to $5 billion in three years.
PM Shehbaz stated that Pakistan currently only has a meagre $1 billion in trade volume when speaking to the Pakistan-Turkeyye Business Council on Saturday in Istanbul. He continued by saying that a memorandum of understanding had been struck to increase this trade volume to $5 billion over the following three years. He continued, “Let us resolve that we will do everything to meet this aim in three years, rather double it. It is not a huge effort at all.”
Beautiful descriptions and possibilities, he continued, would mean nothing unless they were put into practise via laborious and persistent efforts.
As he expressed sympathy to the Turkish people for the recent terror incidents, he earlier remarked that terrorists have no religion and are not citizens of any one nation.
He added that Pakistan also suffers from terrorist strikes and that Turkey has experienced them.
Shehbaz expressed his delight at the fact that Turkish police quickly apprehended the terrorists, sending a very clear message to everyone that Turkey’s resolve to combat this threat cannot be dismissed.

As Pakistan suffered greatly from these terrorists for many years, he remarked, “We share your loss and share your pain.” He said, “They are terrorists, they are vicious, and they are barbaric. As we all know and agree, terrorists have no faith, they are not human beings, and they belong to no one’s territory.
He asked the entire peaceful society to unite and take strong action against terrorism. “Pakistan paid huge sacrifices to fight this menace and to a very large extent they have been defeated,” he said, adding that for this hard-won peace, they paid huge price in the form of sacrifices from the armed forces including officers, sepoys, law enforcement, common man, doctors, mothers, and children.
