Rana Shamim lied about his age to become judge. A letter from Justice Retired Anwar Zaheer Jamali revealed that former chief judge of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Rana Shamim lied about his age to become an additional judge of the Sindh High Court (SHC).

More information about Rana Shamim has come to light, including the fact that he concealed his true age in order to become an SHC additional judge after the chief justice rejected the recommendation to appoint him as a permanent judge.

It was discovered that the then-chief judge had written a letter to the Sindh governor expressing his views.

In his letter, former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Retired Anwar Zaheer Jamali revealed that Rana Shamim was 62 years old when he was appointed as a judge.

Shamim’s birth year was changed in the bar council’s records from 1946 to 1950, yet there was no report for his appointment as an additional judge of the SHC. Shamim’s honesty had remained suspect, according to Jamali, and his work as an additional judge had been dismal.

Rana Shamim lied about his age to become judge.

Rana Shamim was not eligible to be a high court judge, according to the former CJP, and he was not in favor of making him a permanent judge.

Prior to this revelation, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry shared a news story claiming that former GB Chief Justice Rana Shamim had signed an affidavit against Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges and ex-CJP Justice Saqib Nisar at PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s London office.

“The new revelations have once again proved the Sharif family as Sicilian mafia and how they act as mafia and has the ability to blackmail the courts and other institutions,” Fawad Chaudhry had said.
