Chris R. Holden, chief of the California Legislative Assembly, invited Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the chief minister, to sign the sister state’s connection agreement.
Salman Ghani, a former federal secretary, provided data about the deal between Punjab and the US state of California during a meeting to examine the situation that was presided over by the chief minister.
The chef gave orders to rapidly give the deal its final shape.
According to him, the deal will boost bilateral investment and promote trade, business, and economic ties between Pakistan and California. He emphasized the importance of fostering relationships in the areas of culture, environment, information technology, healthcare, and education.
He made a point of saying that the accord would improve ties between Punjab and California.
The Chief Minister announced that a separate cell will be established in the Planning and Development Council to give the agreement its final form and take on the duty of carrying it out.
Although a delegation from the Punjab government had been invited to travel to the United States for the ceremony, he said he would be happy if a delegation from California came to Lahore instead.
He said that a resolution designating Punjab as a sister state had been approved by the California Legislative Assembly. The director of the USAID mission, Donald Blome, the US ambassador to Pakistan, and other relevant officials have also received copies of the letter, he continued.
According to the CM, Holden expressed optimism that the contract would be signed soon.
