On Monday, a financial court in Islamabad extended the temporary bail granted to former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan in the Foreign Exchange Act case brought against him until November 10, 2022.
Judge Rakhshinda Shaheen also granted Imran’s request for today’s court appearance to be waived.
The prosecutor, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, informed the court that the high court had granted Imran protective bail.
The former prime minister’s attorney stated that the court’s jurisdiction was the initial problem in the case. He said, “And now the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has resolved the matter.”
Imran is the leader of the PTI, and he is leading a long march, thus he should be excused from today’s hearing, his attorney argued, requesting that his client be excused from court.
In contrast, the prosecutor challenged Imran’s attorney’s argument and urged the court to reject it. Since the PTI chairman is leading a long march, it makes no sense for him to show up today, he stated.
The PTI’s interim bail in a terrorism case has been extended until November 9.
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad extended Imran Khan’s interim bail in a terrorism case brought against him at the Tarnol police station of the city till November 9 on Monday.
