Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz escaped uninjured from a gun attack on his route from his ancestral village of Kohat to Peshawar city on Sunday.
Shots were fired at his car by armed intruders, smashing the windows.
Faraz told the reporters that he is safe, but that his driver was hurt and was sent to Peshawar for medical treatment.
Fawad Chaudhry, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, tweeted shortly after the news surfaced that Faraz had been attacked by gunmen in Darra Adam Khel.
“Thankfully, he was unharmed, but the driver had significant injuries and was taken to the hospital.”
He wrote, “We strongly condemn this incident.”
