Nasla Tower female evictee leaves world, pleading for justice

On Saturday, a 65-year-old woman died in Karachi after being evicted from her flat in Nasla Tower in accordance with a Supreme Court order.

According to reports, Shamim Usman, 65, a former employee of Pakistan International Airlines, was under extreme mental stress when the administration began evicting Nasla Tower residents on the apex court’s order. She was the owner of Flat 104 in the residential complex.

She ran from post to pillar to save her house when she received the eviction notice. She petitioned the Supreme Court, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and the Karachi Commissioner, but all of her requests were ignored.

Dejected and disappointed, the poor woman suffered from severe mental strain, which took her life.
