The Pakistan Railways Headquarter officers in Lahore protested on Friday against their minister Azam Swati, who became overzealous and arrested one of their colleagues without any evidence of corruption or a departmental investigation.
According to reports, railway officers across the country protested Railways Minister Azam Swati’s arrest and handcuffing of Railways Works Manager Shahzad Javed without any investigation or proof. They staged a sit-in at the Railways Headquarters.
According to sources, they also called for a strike. Many officers had already submitted leave applications, they said, adding that the officers had expressed a desire to meet with the minister on their own.
