General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), paid a visit to the Karachi Corps Headquarters on Monday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the ISPR statement, the army commander was met by Corps Commander Lt-Gen Muhammad Saeed. The COAS was briefed on the formation’s operational issues as well as the security situation in the province, particularly in Karachi.
He was also updated on the formation’s support for civil administration in the implementation of the KTP, including FWO, NLC, and NDMA initiatives to strengthen existing infrastructure to protect against urban floods in Karachi and to upgrade important civic amenities. He expressed his pleasure with the Corps’ operational readiness and the internal security procedures in place.

The COAS praised the formation’s and Rangers’ efforts to maintain law and order, which has resulted in a considerable decrease in terrorism and crime rates over the years, as well as a safe environment for socio-economic activity.
He praised all stakeholders’ coordinated efforts in implementing the Karachi Transformation Plan (KTP). The army commander also paid a visit to the Sindh Police headquarters, where he placed a wreath at the martyrs’ monument. He paid respect to the martyrs and pledged his undivided support to their families.
