Army to take all possible steps for ensuring peace in Swat
Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat visited Swat and met with tribal elders of Malakand, Buner, Shangla, and Dir, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Saturday.
The Peshawar Corps commander met with Swat tribe elders and praised their support for the security forces during Operation Swat, according to the army’s PR department.
He said that rapid and unprecedented success in Swat against terrorists was only possible because the people fought side by side with the security forces.
Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat said that after the successful conclusion of operations and the return to normalcy, a peaceful transition was ensured for the civil administration and the LEA.

The commander of the corps said the military will do everything possible to ensure that no one takes over the law and disrupts the hard-earned peace and economic activities vital to the livelihood of the local population.
The commander of the corps commended the local elders for their continued support of the security forces during the war on terror, especially Operation Swat. The tribal elders expressed their full confidence in the Pakistani military and its capabilities and assured full support of the security forces and other law enforcement agencies.
