On Sunday, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan received the Sitara-e-Pakistan award in appreciation of his contributions to fostering ties between Pakistan and the UK.
The prestigious civil award was given to Khan, who has been the mayor of London for two terms straight since 2016, at a ceremony held at the High Commission of Pakistan in London to commemorate Pakistan’s 75th anniversary of independence.
Speaking at the event, Sadiq Khan said that he is honored to serve as a link between Pakistan and the UK and that the ties between London and Pakistan in terms of trade and culture are crucial.
