Court reserves decision on Gill’s physical remand extension: The district and sessions court has reserved its decision on the petition filed by police seeking an extension in his physical remand.
The decision will be announced by the session judge at 10:30 a.m. today.
Previously, PTI leader and Imran Khan’s Chief of Staff Shahbaz Gill told a local court that police tortured him and presented a forged medical certificate.
On Friday, the PTI leader appeared in District and Sessions Court.
During the previous hearing on Wednesday, the court granted Gill a two-day physical remand while ordering police to produce him with his medical examination before the court in two days.
The PTI leader told the court at the start of the hearing that he was tortured during his arrest and that there were torture marks on his body. He claimed that the police did not conduct a medical examination on him. He also claimed that police refused him permission to meet with his lawyers.

Gill tore open his shirt in court to show the torture marks on his body to prove his point. He claimed that no medical examination was performed and that the police produced a false report. He asked the court to examine the fake report.

He claimed to be a professor, not a criminal. I can’t even think of saying anything bad about my army, he added.
Sessions and Districts Judge Umar Bashir asked if a forged medical report was presented in court.
In response, Islamabad Advocate General Jehangir Jadoon denied the allegations, claiming that the report was favorable.
PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry argued that the torture marks were on Gill’s back rather than his clothes.
According to Chaudhry, the media was told that Gill had become an approver.
However, the AG objected to media allegations.
Attorney General Jehangir Jadoon asked the court to extend the accused’s physical remand. He stated that police had not yet learned who was behind the script that Gill read during an interview on a private TV channel. He stated that the investigators intended to conduct a polygraphic test on the PTI leader to determine whether he was telling the truth or lying. He asked the court to give the police another 4-5 days and to keep Gill in custody.
The AG also told the court that Gill was refusing to give police access to his phone and laptop.
On Tuesday, Islamabad police arrested Shahbaz Gill from Banigala Chowk on charges of sedition and inciting public dissent against state institutions and their leaders.
On behalf of the state, a first information report (FIR) was filed against the PTI leader under sections 34 (common intention), 109 (abetment), 120 (concealing design to commit an offense punishable with imprisonment), 121 (waging war against the state), 124-A (sedition), 131 (abetting mutiny, or attempting to seduce a soldier, sailor, or airman from his duty), 153 (provoking to cause riot).
