Former National Assembly (NA) deputy speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Qasim Suri has indicated his inability to appear before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team in Quetta today for questioning in connection with the party’s prohibited funding case.
He explained that he received the FIA notice at his Quetta residence only yesterday (August 10, 2022), but was unable to travel there due to a lack of flights from Islamabad.
Suri, who was summoned by the Agency for questioning in connection with a Rs5.5 million transaction in one of his bank accounts, stated that he had always followed the law.
Following the government’s directives in light of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s verdict in the party’s prohibited funding case, the FIA issued notices to former NA deputy speaker and other PTI leaders to appear for questioning.
In related news, Punjab minister and PTI leader Mian Mehmood ur Rashid appeared before the FIA on Thursday in Lahore.
