Death toll reached 136 as floods, rains claim nine more lives in Balochistan

Nine more people have died as a result of the raging floods that have devastated parts of Balochistan.

According to a Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) estimate, the province’s mortality toll from severe rainfall and flooding has risen to 136.

There were 56 adults, 33 women, and 47 children among those killed in the recent torrential rains and floods. The majority of fatalities have been reported in Bolan, Quetta, Zhob, Dukki, and Khuzdar.

Hundreds of houses have been turned into piles of rubble by rains and floods, and thousands of people are forced to spend days and nights under the open sky. The flood-hit people are also facing a shortage of food and water.

10 die in AJK roof collapse incident

At least ten people were killed and four others were injured after the roof of a home collapsed on them in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, due to heavy rain (AJK).

According to rescue sources, the event occurred late at night while the deceased was sleeping in their home.

Among those killed were women and children. The injured were taken to the hospital.

It was discovered that two families were residing in the house, the roof of which had fallen due to rain.

AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan expressed grief and condolence over the demise of the people in the roof collapse incident.

He also directed the administration to ensure all possible assistance to the heirs of the victims.

3 women die in Takht Bhai roof collapse incident

Three women died while four other people were injured after the roof of a room collapsed on them in Takht Bhai, Mardan district.

The injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for medical treatment.

Punjab

Several cities of Punjab have been submerged amid heavy monsoon rains.

It has been reported that people are moving to safe places in the villages of Jhang.

In Rangpur, the low-lying areas are under water due to floods in the Chenab River. People are facing difficulties due to the closure of roads.

Islamabad Weather

Islamabad is expected to remain partly cloudy with gusty winds and thundershower, according to the Meteorological Department.

Balochistan Weather

More rain is expected in Balochistan, with gusty winds and thunderstorms in regions such as Zhob, Ziarat, Musakhail, Qila Abdullah, and Pishin.

Rain with thunderstorms is also expected in Barkhan, Loralai, Kohlu, Quetta, Sibi, and Chaman.

Weather in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

According to the Meteorological Department, places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like as Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Dir, Swat, Chitral, and Kohistan are anticipated to receive heavy rain with high winds and thunderstorms.

Similarly, Peshawar, Kohat, Waziristan, Kurram, Bajaur, Khyber, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are expected to receive more rain, as well as gusty gusts and thundershowers.

AJK and GB Weather

Rain, high gusts, and thundershowers are expected in Kashmir’s Bhimbar, Kotli, Mirpur, Sidhnoti, Poonch, Bagh, Haveli, Hattian Bala, Muzaffarabad, and Neelum Valley.

According to the Meteorological Department, Gilgit-Baltistan will also remain gloomy with gusty gusts and thundershowers.

Weather in Sindh

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Sindh will stay hot and humid.

Rain, high gusts, and thunderstorms are possible in Karachi, Thatta, Mithi, and surrounding areas.
