The Pakistani Election Commission has dismissed Railways Minister Azam Swati’s written apologies, which instructed him to appear before the commission in person to extend his apology.
Railways Minister Swati joined Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry in apologizing to the Election Commission. The ECP, however, set it aside and ordered him to appear before the commission in person to apologize.
The ECP, on the other hand, has reserved judgment on Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s written apologies.
Barrister Zafar Ali read the apology note prepared by the railway’s minister during the ECP hearing on the Azam Swati case on Friday. Nisar Durrani, a member of the ECP Sindh, objected, saying that all institutions should respect one another.
Swati was personally called by the Commission on December 22. It hasn’t made up its mind about Fawad Chaudhry’s written apologies. The commission would issue a proper order on the information minister’s apology message, according to the ECP Sindh member.
Swati stated in his written response that the administration has always attempted to strengthen the ECP. The railroad minister remarked that if he hurts someone, he seeks forgiveness.
The commission was performing its job honestly, according to Nisar Durrani. He said the panel today excused the railway’s minister from the hearing but summoned him to appear in person before the ECP on December 22.
