Former President Asif Ali Zardari told PML-Q federal ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema and Chaudhry Salik Hussain during a meeting that making Pakistan wheat self-sufficient was his, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and the coalition government’s top objective.
“If my country’s farmers are prosperous, my country is prosperous,” remarked the former president, who is now the PPP’s co-chairman.
Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, speaking on the occasion, noted that farmers had received special help in the budget.
Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain also addressed at the event, stating that regaining the confidence of farmers and international investors was the coalition government’s top goal.
