The federal cabinet has approved a 15% pay raise for government employees.
The decision was made at a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Friday, which was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Pension increases of 5% were also approved by the cabinet.
The cabinet meeting took place just hours before the federal budget for the years 2022-2023 was presented to the National Assembly.
