British Airways suspends Islamabad flight operation. British Airways has suspended its Islamabad flight operations for operational reasons.

Due to operational issues, British Airways decided on Tuesday to suspend its flight operations in Islamabad from June 15 to June 30.

The decision of the airline was communicated to the manager of Islamabad International Airport by the BA station manager. He did, however, state that the current flight schedule would be maintained until June 15.

As British Airways suspends Islamabad flight operation, a spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority also confirmed that the BA was suspending its flight operations in Islamabad for operational reasons.

The spokesperson rebuffed the rumors doing rounds on social media regarding BA’s suspension of Islamabad flight operation due to fuel shortage.

“The CAA has been informed by the aviation fuel providers at Islamabad airport that there is no shortage of fuel and fuel storage tanks are full,” he added.

The spokesperson for British Airways stated that an explanation would be issued soon and that the local BA administration was in contact with Islamabad airport authorities.

On February 28, British Airways suspended its Lahore-London flight, which would be resumed between the two cities in October 2020. Since then, British Airways has continued to operate flights between Islamabad and London.

British Airways is the flag carrier of the United Kingdom. It is headquartered in London, England, near its main hub at Heathrow Airport. The airline is the second largest UK-based carrier, based on fleet size and passengers carried, behind easyJet.
