A woman passenger was gang-raped on a Karachi-bound moving train by its staff near Rohri.
According to reports, the Bahauddin Zakariya Express left Multan for Karachi on May 27. On May 28, a woman traveling on the train was gang-raped by two ticket checkers and security in charge as the train approached Rohri railway station.
On Monday, police reported a case of sexual assault by train personnel against a woman. The victim’s statement was recorded by the police.
Meanwhile, the case has been assigned to Kausar Abbas, SP Railways, Karachi Division.
Police have formed teams to apprehend the perpetrators. The authorities have requested information about the incident from the DS Multan and DS Karachi.
According to reports, one of the rapists has been apprehended.
The Railway administration, on the other hand, claimed that the Bahauddin Zakariya Express was run by a private company and that the train crew was also private.
