A 15-year-old girl was raped in front of her father in Pattoki on Thursday.
Zahoor Ahmad told police that he, his daughter Samreen, and his five-year-old son were returning home from a wedding ceremony when they were robbed at Pattoki-Chunian Bypass.
He claimed that the bandits took him to the fields, tied him up with a rope, and then raped his daughter in front of his eyes. “After seeing some bystanders, they became terrified and fled, leaving their motorcycle behind,” he explained.
The man, his daughter, and his son were transported to the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, where a medical examination of the girl confirmed that she had been raped after officers from the Saddar police station learned of the incident.
The police subsequently filed a case against unidentified individuals under the sections pertaining to robbery and rape.
Interestingly, the motorcycle left behind by the robbers turned out to be stolen, as it was later discovered that a case had been filed at the Saddar police station in Okara.
Hamza Shehbaz, chief minister of Punjab, has taken note of the rape incident and requested a report from the inspector general of police, instructing him to expedite the arrest of the suspect.
He also ordered that the victim receive prompt justice.
