According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Pakistani soldier accepted martyrdom while serving in a United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic.
The soldier, Hawaldar Shafiq, was laid to rest with full military honors at his funeral in Mian Chunnu, Pakistan, according to the military’s media wing.
The deceased soldier is survived by his wife and three boys, according to the ISPR. In February 2021, he joined the UN peacekeeping force, according to the report.
According to the ISPR, 162 soldiers have been killed while serving in UN peacekeeping missions.
He claimed that the incumbent government has no idea about the dynamics of polling stations, and that if EVMs were used, the 2023 elections would become contentious even before they were held.
