On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) suspended the Jhang deputy commissioner’s (DC) decision to fine the focal person for the Qatari princes Rs80 million for destroying crops during hunting in the district and summoned him on May 26, 2022.
The petition filed by the point person, Ghulam Hussain Magsi, was heard by Justice Shahid.
Advocate Rana Intezar Hussain argued there was no justification for the imposition of a fine on the person of interest because his client had nothing to do with the destruction of crops. “It would have been preferable if the DC had fined the princes,” he said, pleading with the court to overturn the decision.
